The Herman Brown Free Library in Burnet is hosting a genealogy workshop from 9:30 a.m.-4:40 p.m. Oct. 17.

The free, come-and-go event in the library’s Meeting Room will help people explore their family history and learn practical research skills. Participants can pick and choose from six video presentations covering a range of relevant topics presented by genealogy experts and tour the library’s research center.

“This workshop is a great opportunity for anyone interested in tracing their family roots, whether you’re just getting started or are an experienced researcher,” said genealogy librarian Amanda Seim in a media release about the event.

The program is free, but reservations are required. Sign up at hermanbrownlibrary.org.

The workshop is co-sponsored by the Waco-McLennan County Library, Central Texas Genealogical Society, Texas State Genealogical Society, and Genealogy Network of Texas.

The Herman Brown Free Library is located at 100 E. Washington St. in Burnet. It is open from 10 a.m.-4:45 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m.-2:45 p.m Saturday. Call 512-715-5228 for more information.
