Register to vote by Oct. 6 for November election
Monday, Oct. 6, is the last day to register to vote in the Nov. 4 election.
Texas voters can register or check their registration status on the Texas Secretary of State’s website, votetexas.gov.
Voters in Burnet and Llano counties have big decisions to make in November, and all Texas voters will decide on 17 state propositions.
Other important election dates:
- early voting, Oct. 20-31
- last day to apply for a ballot by mail, Oct. 24

Some elections of note on Burnet County ballots in November are:
- formation of Emergency Services District 10
- formation of Emergency Services District 11
- $1 million bond election for Highland Haven water system improvements
- reauthorization of a local sales tax for street maintenance and repairs in Horseshoe Bay (Horseshoe Bay is in both Llano and Burnet counties)
Note: Candidates ran unopposed for mayor and two City Council positions in Horseshoe Bay, and they will be sworn in without an election. Jeff Jones will become mayor, and Ruben Fechner and Frank Hosea will become councilors.

- formation of Emergency Services District 6
- increase to the maximum tax rate of Emergency Services District 3
- adoption of a city manager form of government in Sunrise Beach Village
- reauthorization of a local sales tax for street maintenance and repairs in Horseshoe Bay (Horseshoe Bay is in both Llano and Burnet counties)
