• The Highland Lakes Birding and Wildflower Society hosts author Jennifer L. Bristol, who will share her unique perspective on where and how to find birds in places you might not expect. Meeting is Thursday, Oct. 2, at 10 a.m. in Burnet. Free and open to the public.
• HealthFaire is 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 3, at the Marble Falls Senior Activity Center. Free health checks, live music, vendors, prizes, and lunch.
• The 24th annual Main Street Car Show in downtown Marble Falls is Saturday, Oct. 4, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Free for spectators.
• The Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge Round-Up is 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at the refuge, located east of Marble Falls. Family-friendly fun includes fishing, a birds of prey show, archery, nature art, reptiles, and food trucks. Free.
• Wakepoint LBJ in Kingsland hosts Outdoor Movie Night on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Family-friendly movie and free popcorn.
• The Buckaroo Ball is Saturday from 5-9 p.m. at the YMCA in Burnet. Event raises money for the Boys and Girls Club of the Highland Lakes. Features games, raffles, live and silent auctions, food and drinks, and more. 
• The Chicken Scratch Showdown fundraiser for the Burnet CISD Education Foundation is 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, at Bill’s Burgers in Burnet.
