Camp Agape is accepting applications for its 2025 summer camp. The Marble Falls-based organization’s annual grief camp, now in its 25th year, helps children who have lost a parent or sibling navigate the bereavement process while still having a fun experience.
This year’s camp is June 2-5 at Morgan’s Camp in San Antonio. Families should apply early as spots are limited. A $100 refundable deposit is required to secure a space, but scholarships are available to ensure no child is turned away due to financial hardship. The camp itself is free. Apply online at www.campagapetexas.org.
The camp is divided into three programs:
- Summer camp—a four-day experience for ages 7-12 to find healing through fun activities, peer support, and faith-based guidance.
- Family retreat—a weekend getaway for the entire family unit to process grief together in a supportive environment.
- Footprints—an after-school program for ages 6-15 and their families that offers continued emotional support beyond camp.
“As we celebrate 25 years, our mission remains unchanged: to provide a place where children can heal, grow, and feel embraced by love,” said Camp Agape Director Alaina Wood in a media release announcing the 2025 camp. “Each child who attends leaves with newfound hope and lifelong connections.”
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Camp Agape is seeking adult volunteers to serve as Buddies, who will support the campers throughout the four-day experience. High school students ages 14-17 may apply to be High School Helpers and gain community service experience. Experienced photographers are also needed to capture camp activities. Visit the website to apply for any of the volunteer opportunities.
FUNDRAISERS
To raise money in support of grieving children and their families, Camp Agape is hosting two events in 2025: the second annual golf tournament on April 5 and the Lights of Love: 25 Years of Healing Hurting Hearts memorial event on May 10. Find out more online.
CAMP AT HOME
Camp Agape is expanding its reach with the sale of The Memory Lane® game, a trademarked therapeutic tool. The interactive game helps families and organizations guide children through the grieving process in a meaningful and engaging way. The entire Summer Camp program, Camp-in-a-Box® can be purchased so organizations around the world can implement their own Camp Agape.
