MFHS searching for new volleyball coach
Marble Falls High School is looking for a new head volleyball coach and has posted the position online. Previous head coach Kaitlyn Goertz will now serve as an assistant track-and-field coach and remain an assistant on the girls’ basketball team.
“We are grateful that Coach Goertz is going to continue to assist our playoff girls’ basketball program and continue to be a wonderful and engaging teacher here at the high school,” Athletic Director Keri Timmerman told DailyTrib.com.
The move marks the end of a four-year stint for Goertz as head of the volleyball program. She posted a coaching record of 17-97 during that span.
“Coach Goertz has been a great role model and an asset to our Mustang programs and an incredible influence to our student-athletes in the classroom and the athletic arena,” said Timmerman, who took over as AD and head football coach in January.
The wishlist for a new volleyball coach includes head coaching experience or time as an upper assistant in a successful program.
“We are looking for someone who is excited to work with our youth leagues and (who will) create opportunities for our younger middle school and elementary students to improve skill and play,” he said. “We are also looking for a teacher that will impact their classes and our hallways in a positive way.”
The AD is confident the district will be able to attract candidates with those qualifications.
“Marble Falls ISD is a destination teaching/coaching location with a community that is growing and excited to build success in all of our programs,” Timmerman said. “Marble Falls is a great place to build a community, raise a family, and contribute to win championships. The district is taking applications and working through the process to find the right fit for our position.”
