Driver’s license offices across Texas, along with the state’s customer service center, will be closed on Friday, Sept. 1, through Labor Day, Sept. 4, as the Texas Department of Public Safety updates its system. Offices will reopen on Tuesday, Sept. 5.
Local offices affected are in Marble Falls, Llano, and Lampasas.
Customers also will be unable to conduct online transactions, such as renewing or replacing a driver’s license or identification card, obtaining a driver’s record, or verifying eligibility through Texas by Texas or Texas.gov, during the system update. These services will be offline through Sept. 3.
The update will not affect law enforcement personnel using the Texas Law Enforcement Telecommunication System.
