The Hill Country Community Theatre is offering acting classes for adults to deepen the pool of on-stage performers in the Highland Lakes. The six-week course is on Saturdays, April 1-May 6, from 10 a.m. to noon. at the nonprofit theater, 4003 FM 2147 West in Cottonwood Shores.

The cost is $150.

HCCT Artistic Director Daniel Melton will lead the classes. He has years of experience in acting, singing, and dancing from working on cruise ships, at Six Flags, and as a staff member for the Fredericksburg Theatre company, according to an HCCT media release.

The classes will teach stage basics and movement.

“We want to make it easy for people to feel comfortable on stage. This class would be a great start,” said Melton in the release.

This is the first stage training for adults offered by the HCCT, which has a successful youth summer program. The amateur playhouse depends on community participation in its seasonal productions.

To register, email Melton at daniel@thehcct.org, call the theater at 830-693-2474, or visit its website.
