Community forum on BCISD bond projects March 9
The Burnet Consolidated Independent School District is hosting a community forum on the progress of its 2021 bond package on March 9. The public event starts at 8 a.m. at the district’s Parent Resource Center, 202 E. Brier St. in Burnet. Coffee and pastries will be provided.
Superintendent Keith McBurnett will give an update and answer questions about the district and the bond projects. The roughly $52 million in improvements, approved by voters in May 2021, include accommodations for future student growth, renovations to several school buildings, and the construction of an $8.9 million student activities center.
The cost of those projects has gone up over the past year due to a spike in construction prices.
