Two incumbents, three challengers vie for two seats on PEC board of directors
Five people have filed for two seats in the Pedernales Electric Cooperative board of directors election, which takes place May 18-June 10. District 4 incumbent Travis Cox will face Kathi Thomas in the upcoming race. District 5 incumbent James Oakley drew two opponents, Rachelle Sutherland and Scott Powell.
Only PEC members in each district are eligible to vote for directors. Voting will be online, by mail, or by voting devices during business hours in district offices. Ballots will be mailed to members several days before the first day of voting May 18. The online voting site goes live that same day. Electronic voting devices will also be available to the membership at each district PEC office by May 18.
Election results will be released at the 2022 annual meeting at 9 a.m. Friday, June 17.
An official presentation of the candidate slate and ballots will be presented for approval at the April 14 meeting of the current board of directors.
