Hill Country Community Theatre staff and volunteers believe in the power of theater and the importance of providing arts education to children. However, they need your help to do so.

The theater is seeking donations so students can attend its Youth Summer Theatre Program in June. Donations ensure all children, regardless of economic situation, have access to theater and arts education.

The program’s tuition is $310 per child, but donations of all amounts are welcome.

Besides being fun, theater has many great benefits in terms of development and socialization. It can boost a child’s self-esteem and confidence.

Through the Bob Turnbaugh Youth Summer Theatre Scholarship Fund, donors can help provide those benefits to a child. Turnbaugh was a founding member of the nonprofit Hill Country Community Theatre and had an impact on it as it grew.

Donate online at thehcct.org, by calling the box office at (830) 798-8944, or by sending a check to 4003 FM 2147 West, Cottonwood Shores, TX 78657.

This year, the theater’s youth program is producing the musical “Seussical Jr.” for ages 8-17. The program runs Mondays-Fridays, June 10-23, from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Four performances will be held for the public at 6 p.m. Thursday-Friday, June 20-21, and 2:15 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, June 22-23.

Applications for the program and scholarships are being accepted. Contact (830) 693-2474 or director@thehcct.org.
