Fay E. Hawkins passed away Saturday, May 4, 2019, in Llano, Texas, at the age of 80. She was born December 28, 1938, in Menard, Texas, to James Monroe Brown and Becky (Hensley).

Fay was a resident of Cherokee for 40 years since coming from Lometa, Texas. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her dogs and was of the Baptist faith.

Fay was preceded by her parents, James Monroe Brown and Becky (Hensley); husband, Elton Roy Louis Hawkins; son, Andrew Roy Louis Hawkins; sister, Edna Melton; and brothers James Brown, Kenneth Brown, Danny Brown, and Chester Brown.

She is survived by her sons, Stanley Roy Hawkins and wife Coe, Ronny Gene Hawkins and wife Rhonda, Michael Glen Hawkins, Ricky Lynn Hawkins and wife Tonya, and Gerald Ray Hawkins; daughters, Caroline Durkee, Beverly Moses and husband Bob, Debrah Sue Herr and husband Tommy, Elsie Danette Clopton, and Kathy Holloway and husband Jeremy; brothers, Alton Brown and Eugene Brown and wife Sandy; 25 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home, 307 E. Sandstone in Llano, (325) 247-4300. A graveside service is 3 p.m. Thursday, May 9, at Cherokee Cemetery with Pastor Shannon Bond officiating.
