Johnnie Beryl Griffith, 94, of Kingsland died Jan. 10, 2017

Johnnie Beryl Griffith, 94, of Kingsland, Texas, passed away Jan. 10, 2017. She was born to Isaac Riggs and Nellie Frances (Jones) Chalk Danley on Sept. 21, 1922, in La Luz, New Mexico.

She was a member of Kingsland Church of Christ.

Johnnie will be remembered as a great homemaker and enjoyed sewing, gardening, painting, and remodeling in her spare time.

She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Griffith of Kingsland, Patty Young and husband Ted of Marble Falls, and Linda Elkins and husband Joe of Templeton, California; grandchildren, Ethan Elkins and wife Krissy, Aaron Elkins, William Elkins and wife Molly, and Tyson Young; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 71 years, John Griffith; and 10 siblings.

A memorial service was Jan. 18 at Putnam Funeral Home, 145 Texas Ave. in Kingsland, (325) 388-0008, with Joe Winnett officiating.
