Ruth Jean Peace Rider of Llano, Texas, passed away Sept. 12, 2016, in Marble Falls at the age of 80. Ruth was proud to be born the daughter of Clarence and Ethel (McKiddy) Peace in the Appalachian Mountains of southeastern Kentucky; her family later moved to Covington, Kentucky.

At the age of 21, she married Jerry Rider, and the couple went on to have two daughters: Linda Peace Rider and Patricia Rider Perkins. Ruth and Jerry moved to Odessa, Texas, in the 1980s along with their adult daughters. Life’s path later led Ruth and Jerry to Llano. They would spend the next 20 years splitting their time between Llano and Kentucky.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Jerry; daughter Linda; daughter Patricia and husband Steve; four grandchildren; one grandson-in-law; two great-granddaughters; brother Richard Peace, wife Pam and family; and sister Virgie Logan, husband Jim and family.

Ruth will be missed terribly by everyone who knew her.

A memorial service is 1 p.m. Sept. 13 at Grace Episcopal Church in Llano with the Rev. Dorothy Gremillion officiating. A graveside service is Sept. 14 at Llano City Cemetery in Llano.
