Game wardens investigating wakeboarder’s death on Lake LBJ

KINGSLAND — A 19-year-old man died while wakeboarding on Lake LBJ on Sept. 3, according to Texas Parks and Wildlife Department officials.

Dominq Amir Castillo Porterfield was on the lake participating with friends in the recreational activity when the incident happened in the middle of the afternoon that day, TPWD spokesman Steve Lightfoot said.

“He was wakeboarding. CPR was administered by first responders,” Lightfoot said. “We’re still awaiting final report from the medical examiner’s office on official cause of death.”

The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.

“No arrests have been made,” Lightfoot said. “The driver of the boat was not intoxicated.”
