Jo Nell Schreiber, 73, of Llano died July 15, 2016

Jo Nell (Thigpen) Schreiber passed away July 15, 2016, at the age of 73. She was born July 22, 1942, to Lilly Lela (Robertson) and William Thigpen in Dunn, Texas. She married Joseph Schreiber in Colorado City, Texas, on Sept. 16, 1959.

In the early years, Jo Nell worked on an ambulance alongside R.L. Adams. She was employed for many, many years at Llano Memorial Hospital, where she worked as a unit clerk and, by the end of her tenure, as a surgical technologist.

Jo Nell loved country music and really loved to dance — wherever she was. She loved working in her yard and having Joe move things in the yard from place to place. Jo Nell loved to read as well, but her real passion was watching her children grow up and becoming Memaw to their children and grandchildren.

Jo Nell is survived by her husband of 56 years, Joseph “Joe” Schreiber; daughters, Delhia Moss, Madelyn Mansell and Greg Confer; sons Joseph “Joe” Schreiber Jr. and wife Kathy and Alton Ray Schreiber; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and brother James Thigpen and wife Wanda.

She was preceded in death by her son William Schreiber; parents, Lilly and William Thigpen; three sisters; and three brothers.

A funeral service is 2 p.m. July 20 at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home, 307 E. Sandstone in Llano, (325) 247-4300, with the Rev. Danny Meegan officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
