Claudine Nixon Dodd, 95, passed away peacefully July 10, 2016, at the Texas Masonic Retirement Center in Arlington. Claudine was born Feb. 14, 1922, in Eldorado, Oklahoma, to Floyd and Jessie (Jones) Nixon.

Claudine is survived by her children, Lynn Jay Dodd of Burleson, Sammy Dodd and wife Angela of Big Lake, and Kay Kerneck and Phyliss Evans, both of Phoenix. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Elton Nixon of Poway, California; sisters, Floy Kelly of The Woodlands and Kay Sutton of Midland; and many nieces and nephews.

Claudine was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Dodd; parents, Floyd and Jessie Nixon; daughter-in-law Susie Dodd; and son-in-law Bill Evans.

Claudine was a member of Buchanan West Baptist Church in Buchanan Dam, where she and Elmer made their home after retiring. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Claudine spent many years traveling the United States with Elmer. She enjoyed cooking and sewing, and her favorite hobby was quilting. “Grannie” loved making quilts for all her grands, family members and friends.

A graveside service is 1 p.m. July 12 at Bluffton Cemetery in Bluffton.
