Dana Sid Green, 91, passed away July 1, 2016. He was born March 22, 1925, in Marble Falls, Texas, to Sidney A. Green and Ruth E. Powell Green.

He graduated from Marble Falls High School in 1942, from Southwestern University in Georgetown with a Bachelor of Arts in 1949 and from Yale University Divinity School with a Master of Theology in 1953. He proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II from 1943-1945.

He was an ordained deacon in 1949 and an ordained elder in 1953. He served at St. Paul Church in Waterbury, Connecticut, and West Granby, Connecticut; First United Methodist Church of Rockport from 1954-1956; St. Luke United Methodist Church in Austin from 1956-1959; Santiago Union Church in Santiago, Chile, from 1959-1963; as the director of the Latin America Department of the National Council of the Churches from 1963-1970; and at First United Methodist Church of Ingleside from 1972-1978.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Leonora Green of Corpus Christi; sons, Dana Russell Green (Kathy Ann Murray) of Gresham, Oregon and Worth Sid Green (Sherri) of Llano; daughter, Katherine Ruth Green-Ellison of Corpus Christi; grandchildren, Thad Green (Ana), Nicole McGillagreen (Sean) and Corey Green; and great-grandchildren, Kai Green, Eli Green and Calla Lily McGillagreen.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
