Marjorie Elizabeth Mazy

Marjorie Elizabeth (O’Hara) Mazy passed away March 11, 2016, at the age of 91. She was born April 16, 1924, to Wessie (Bass) and Albert O’Hara in San Antonio.

She worked at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio and then, upon her retirement, moved to Kingsland. She was the secretary at Kingsland Community Church during the late 1970s and early ‘80s. She then worked as secretary at Buchner’s Boys Ranch during the mid-1980s.

Marjorie was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Kingsland, where she taught children’s Sunday school for over 25 years. She was also a member of Eastern Stars and Hermann Sons.

Marjorie is survived by daughters, Cathy Sutherland and husband David of San Antonio and Lorie Amick and husband John; four grandsons; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Frank Mazy; parents, Wessie and Albert O’Hara; and brother, Albert O’Hara Jr.

A funeral service is 1 p.m. March 15 at First Baptist Church in Kingsland with the Rev. Dwight Reagan officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Taylor Lathrop, Connor Lathrop, David Sutherland, Travis Chauvette, Jordan Chauvette and John Amick. Burial will follow at Kingsland Cemetery.
