Fred Lanny Thompson, 76, of Llano died March 11, 2016

Fred Lanny Thompson was born on Aug. 4, 1939, in Burnet, the oldest living son of Fred Aaron Thompson and Doris Kathlyn Whitman. He died March 11, 2016, at his home in Llano.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah; seven children; 19 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren

A funeral service is 11 a.m. March 15 at First Baptist Church in Llano with the Rev. Rick Cundieff officiating. A graveside service will follow at Richland Cemetery in Burnet County.
