Eva Lee “Eve” Fitzgerald, 98, of Kingsland, Texas, passed away Feb. 21, 2016. She was born to Vol and Mary (Reavis) Casey on Sept. 1, 1917, in Barksdale, Texas.

Eva was a hairdresser by trade and owned her own beauty salon for 25 years. She enjoyed traveling by Airstream around the country, square dancing, playing cards and visiting with friends. She was a member of Kingsland Community Church for many years and enjoyed playing in a bridge club and the local square dancing club. She loved life and everyone around her knew that by her greeting people all the time. Her hobbies include sewing, quilting and canvas painting.

She is survived by her daughter, Jo Ann Eastman and husband Jake of Kingsland; son, Ray Fitzgerald and wife Carolyn of San Antonio; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Eva was preceded in death by her loving husband of almost 70 years, Homer Fitzgerald; her parents; sisters, Eula May and Naomi Casey; and brother, Clifton Casey.

A memorial service is 10:30 a.m. Feb. 27 at Kingsland Community Church, 1136 RR 1431 in Kingsland, with the Rev. Dick West officiating.
