Esther Helen Taff, 82, of Kingsland, Texas, passed away Feb. 23, 2016. She was born to John Walter and Fannie Beulah (Crisp) Penny on April 4, 1933, in Coleman, Oklahoma.

Esther was a very kindhearted Christian woman and helped a lot of people along the way. She was a nurse for more than 32 years, which says a lot about her character.

She is survived by her sons, Clint Taff and wife Mary of Box Springs and Harold Taff and wife Rainy of Hopkins; daughters, Tina Marie Taff and companion Warren Alexander of Kingsland and Cynthia Sims of Kingsland; sister, Louise Taff of Caddo Mills; niece Vanessa Taff-Tate and husband Bobby of Caddo Mills; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents and brothers John and Charles Penny; great-granddaughter Candace Davis; niece Cathy Taff; and brother-in-law Javan Taff.

A funeral service is 2 p.m. Feb. 27 at Putnam Funeral Home, 145 Texas Ave. in Kingsland, (325) 388-0008, with interment to follow at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park on Park Road 4 in Burnet. The Rev. Jerry White will officiate.
