William Franklin Grant, 84, of Marble Falls died Dec. 10, 2015

William “Bill” Franklin Grant of Marble Falls died Dec. 10, 2015, after a brief but hard-fought battle with lung cancer.
Mr. Grant was born on Nov. 20, 1931, to Jordan Lewis and Vernon Estelle Grant. He graduated from Jefferson High School in San Antonio then joined the Air Force and was stationed at Lackland Air Force Base for many years.
After retiring from the Air Force, he worked in the Houston and San Antonio areas in the restaurant and automotive industries. After moving to Marble Falls, he married Murlene Cornelius. For the last several years of his life, he worked as a security guard at the Hidden Falls Country Club in Meadowlakes.
Mr. Grant was preceded in death by son, Franklin Grant Jr; his parents; brother Lewis Grant; and sisters Sarah Jo Taylor and Frances Ray Haldy.
He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Murlene; daughter, Jolynn Grant of San Antonio; and two stepsons and their families.
A service is 11 a.m. Dec. 18 at First Baptist Church of Marble Falls in the Koinonia Room and officiated by Mr. Weldon French, associate pastor. Visitation will precede it from 10-11 a.m. Interment will follow at Marble Falls City Cemetery.
