Howard Wayne Foster, 88, of Kingsland died Dec. 14, 2015

Howard Wayne Foster was born in Albany, Texas, on June 9, 1927. His parents were Robert and Florence Brown Foster. He died Dec. 14, 2015.
He often told stories of his idyllic childhood in Albany, riding horses and hunting boars accompanied by his faithful German shepherd.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard a destroyer and in occupied Japan. After the war, he met and married the love of his life, Edna Ruth Tate. His work for General Motors allowed them to live in Corpus Christi, Austin, San Antonio and, finally, Houston.
After retiring, he and Ruthie moved to Kingsland and enjoyed visiting family and photographing the wildflowers and birds in the area.
Wayne is survived by his daughter, Heddie Shannon and husband Randy; son, Stephen Foster and wife Sally; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
