Alex Walker Daricek, 70, of Burnet died Nov. 19, 2015

Alex Walker Daricek, 70, passed away Nov. 19, 2015, at home in Burnet. Buck, as he was known to all, was born Aug. 14, 1945, in Levelland to Jimmie and Leona (Edwards) Daricek. He came to Burnet in about 1960 when his parents moved here to build and operate Silver Creek Lodge.
He spent his professional career in the pipe-coating area of the oil and gas business.
Buck was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of First Baptist Church. He was a member of Valley Lodge #175 in Burnet and Lake Victor Lodge #1011, Burnet Chapter, Council, and Commandry and was a 32nd-degree Scottish Rite Mason. He was a proud recipient of the Golden Trowel and the L.A. “Bunk” Gibbs awards.
Buck was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leroy and Luell Schooley; and sister-in-law Carrie Schooley.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Daricek; daughters, Sheila Canfield and husband Roger and Dawn Eiler; grandsons, Derek Krenek, Ryan Krenek and wife Angie and John Thomas Eiler; and great-granddaughters, Avery and Taylor Krenek. Buck also leaves behind sister, Carol Pyburn and husband Jim; brother-in-law Lamar Schooley; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
A memorial service is 10 a.m. Nov. 23 at First Baptist Church in Burnet with the Rev. Doug Lindley officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date at Shady Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Valley Lodge #175 in Burnet or to First Baptist Church for the KidsZone program.
