Wanda Grace Rousser Newton, 76, of Tow died Nov. 19, 2015

Wanda Grace Rousser Newton was accepted by the Lord into heaven on Nov. 19, 2015, in Cedar Park after battling Alzheimer’s disease. Wanda was born Feb. 27, 1939, in Tulia to Orman Grady and Nellie Gertrude Stuckey “Nell” Rousser.
Her father came from a long line of farmers in the Plainview area. Her grandfather was Robert Rousser of Swisher County, and her great-grandfather was Jacob Fredrich Rousser, who came to the Milam area in 1878 from Effingren, Germany.
She met her husband, Doyce, while attending high school in Kress. Wanda and Doyce would have celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on Thanksgiving day.
The couple lived in Tow for the last four years. Prior to moving there, Wanda and Doyce had lived in Baytown since 1969. While residing in Baytown, Wanda worked in sales for Lyons Distributing for many years, and prior to that, at Rusty’s Meat Market.
Wanda was actively involved with her children and enjoyed watching their sporting activities and spending quality time with them. She was also a doting grandmother who loved to watch her four granddaughters play sports, take them shopping and generally spoil them rotten. She also loved Texas team sports including the Texans and the Astros.
She will be sadly missed by all those whose lives she touched, of whom there were many.
She is survived by her husband, Doyce Newton; children, Jay Newton of Dallas, Randy Newton of Deer Park and Tom Newton of Houston; daughters-In-law, Krystin Mitchell and Janet Newton; grandchildren, Taylor Newton, Holly Newton, Reese Newton and Parker Newton; and great grandchild, Mason Biehl.
