Burnet community gathers to honor firefighter/EMT killed in accident
With only a couple of hours of notice, Burnet County community members gathered Sept. 19 to welcome the body of Burnet firefighter/EMT Daniel Hampton home. Hampton died after a collision Sept. 18 when the ambulance he was driving struck the back of a semi-truck about 9 p.m. Texas 29 between Bertram and Liberty Hill. Hampton had been a member of the Burnet Fire Department for two years. He leaves behind a wife and four children, according Burnet officials. A funeral service is 10 a.m. Sept. 24 at Hill Country Fellowship Church, 200 Houston Clinton Drive in Burnet. Read more about the accident here. Photo courtesy of Doris Graeter
