Kenyon “Ken” Eugene Clonts, 84, of Kingsland, Texas, passed away Sept. 12, 2015. He was born to W.E. and Dovie (Durham) Clonts on Aug. 17, 1931, in Knox City, Texas.

Mr. Clonts proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. After serving in the Army, Ken joined the American Legion, where he was a chaplain for many years. After several years working for Merichem Corp. in Houston, where he had many patents for products and processes related to the chemical industry, he and his wife, Patricia, moved to the Kingsland area in the mid-1990s. He was also a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying and tending to his ranch, which was his daily work routine.

Mr. Clonts is survived his sons, Kenyon Eugene Clonts II and wife Melanie of Austin, John Curtis Clonts of Temple and David Randall Clonts and wife Melissa of Houston; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive him.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 60 years, Patricia.

A private family service is planned at a later date.
