Ruby Laverne Maynard, 80, died Sept. 6, 2015

Ruby Laverne Maynard passed away Sept. 6, 2015, at the age of 80. She was born Oct. 17, 1934, in Georgetown, Texas, to Mae (King) and Lloyd Newman. Ruby later married Buck Albert Maynard on June 12, 1954, in Georgetown.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 317 in Jarrell, Texas. She supported the Wounded Warrior Project, and in her words, “She loves her soldier boys.” Ruby also loved to pass out Christian tracks to spread the word of Jesus.
She is survived by five daughters, Virgie Maynard of Missouri, Mary Lou LaVrar and husband John of Jarrell, Linda Laverne Maynard and husband Horace “Buddy” of Girard, Winnie Lucille Goins of Merkel and Martha Katherine “Kathy” Maynard and husband Benjamin of Girard; three sons, Jerry Dean Maynard and wife Sarah of Girard, Jacob Glenn Maynard and wife Frankie of McCauley and David Lynn Maynard of Jarrell; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Buck, in 2002 as well as her parents, Mae and Lloyd Newman, five sisters and nine brothers.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Sept. 10 at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home, 307 E. Sandstone in Llano, (325) 247-4300. A graveside service is 10 a.m. Sept. 11 at Llano City Cemetery.
