William Jack Johnson of Burnet, Texas, passed from this life at noon Monday, Aug. 3, 2015. Services were Aug. 7 at the Jenkins Edgar Funeral Home in Burnet. A graveside service followed at the Post Mountain Cemetery in Burnet.

Jack was born Sept. 28, 1918, in Mountain Air, New Mexico, to William Jessie and Eddie Lee Johnson. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp in England during World War II. He was a faithful member of Oaks West Church of Christ in Burnet for 41 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Melba Boyd Johnson; three sons, James Edward Johnson and wife Mary Arlene, William Larry Johnson and wife Bonnie and John Boyd Johnson and wife Cindy. Also surviving him are six grandchildren, Christine Cano, Andrea Ayers, Benjamin Johnson, Jeremy Johnson, Hunter Johnson and Jennifer Pierdolla; two step-grandchildren, Shane and Shannon; and five great-grandchildren, Samantha, Jack, Rachel, Beth and Rachael.
