Hazel Roberta (Matthews) Brecht, 91, of Kingsland died June 8, 2015
Hazel Roberta (Matthews) Brecht, 91, of Kingsland, Texas, passed away June 8, 2015. She was born to Adolphus Woodson and Mary Josephine (Fox) Matthews on Aug. 20, 1923, in Munday, Texas.
She enjoyed sewing, gardening and canning as hobbies.
She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Bird and husband Peter of Kingsland, Texas; son, Kelly Brecht of Sunrise Beach Village, Texas; three grandchildren, Nicole Crutchfield, Danielle Bourke and Shawn Bourke; and six great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Brecht; eight brothers, Edwin, Estell, Vernie, Lawrence, Horace, Loy, Virgil and Joe Matthews; and two sisters, Lois O’Neil and Laura Falk.
Visitation was 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 12, at Putnam Funeral Home in Kingsland with a special time set aside at 6 p.m. for some personal reminiscences.
