MARBLE FALLS — The Marble Falls school board on June 22 named Chris Allen, a Lake Travis Independent School District deputy superintendent, as the lone finalist for the superintendent position, officials say.
Over the past couple of weeks, the Marble Falls ISD school board narrowed the list from 50 candidates to six to three and then chose Allen.
By state law, MFISD must wait 21 days before offering a lone finalist a contract.
According to the Lake Travis ISD website, Allen supervises extracurricular programs and campus principals in his capacity as deputy assistant superintendent.
Allen, an educator for 17 years, has worked for Birdville, Grapevine-Colleyville and Midway school districts through the years.
He gradated from the University of Texas, where he earned bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate of educational leadership degrees.
His experience includes classroom teaching and coaching as well as campus and central office administration.
The school board is seeking to replace Rob O’Connor, who is leaving the district to become superintendent of Sharyland ISD on July 6.
