Roger B. Daniell Sr., 95, passed away June 19, 2015, in Burnet, Texas.
A funeral service is 10 a.m. June 24 at Edgar & Jenkins Family Funeral Home, 109 N. Main St. in Burnet, (512) 756-4444. Interment will follow at South San Gabriel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. June 23 at the funeral home.
Roger grew up in the Hill Country and lived here all is life. He was a star athlete at Bertram High School and joined the service after Pearl Harbor and reached the rank of captain in the Army Air Force, flying a B-29 in the Pacific Theatre.
He was a committed Christian and helped establish numerous churches during his life.
He was preceded in death by Dorothy, his loving wife of 62 years. He is survived by daughter, Cindy; son, Roger Jr.; as well as daughter-in-law, Mary. He was the proud grandfather of Kate and Chris and great-grandfather to Jack.
The family would like to thank Michele and the staff at Pafford Place Assisted Living and the staff of the Oaks Nursing Home for their care. And a very special thank-you to Rosemary and Jovanna.
