BURNET — The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that the speed of a vehicle might have been a factor in the death of a Burnet man who rolled the SUV he was driving on a rural road just outside Burnet over the weekend.

The wreck happened at 12:13 am. June 13 on CR 305, 2.8 miles east of Burnet, according to the DPS.

Tino Bernal Flores, 51, of Burnet, was pronounced dead at the scene by Burnet County Pct. 3 Justice of the Peace Peggy Simon.

The victim was driving a 1999 Ford Explorer.

“(The vehicle was) southbound on CR 305 … traveling at unsafe speed and went off the west side of the roadway and rolled mulitple times, came to rest on its top, facing northwest off the roadway,” according to the report.

Bernal was not wearing a seatbelt, the report stated.
