Museum coffee on May 22 to honor outgoing Mayor George Russell

MARBLE FALLS — Outgoing Marble Falls Mayor George Russell will be honored with an appreciation event and coffee May 22 at the Falls on the Colorado Museum.

The event is 10 a.m. at the museum, 2001 Broadway St. The public is invited.

Museum board members are hosting the event to express their appreciation for the support that Russell and other city officials have given the museum through the years.

After serving as city manager of Marble Falls, Russell was elected mayor in 2009 and served three terms. His last day in office was May 19. He is being succeeded by incoming mayor John Packer.

Russell and his wife, Cynthia, said they are looking forward to traveling and spending time with their family.
