JOHNSON CITY — For Susan Kirchman, the perfect Sunday afternoon includes art, wine and live music.

That explains why her gallery, TASTE Wine + Art, hosts this type of free gathering the second Sunday of each month.

The next event is 1-4 p.m. May 10, which is also Mother’s Day, at the gallery, 213 N. Nugent Ave. on the Blanco County Courthouse square.

The gallery, which changes up its displays every six weeks, represents 40 Texas artists. At the May event, however, 14 artists have created 52 pieces chosen by Kirchman that will be presented for the exhibition “Spring.”

Gallery co-owner and wine master Warren Vilmaire has chosen which wines, cheeses and other hors d’oeuvres will be served during the exhibition. And wine also will be for sale.

Attendees can sit in chairs gathered around musician Homer Whisenant, who specializes in Texas music. He’ll even take requests, Kirchman said.
