Mary Louise Childress, 86 of Burnet died April 23, 2015

Mary Louise Childress, 86 of Burnet passed away April 23, 2015. She was born Aug. 7, 1928, in Jayton, Texas, to Clyde and Emma Mae (Tatum) Beam.
Louise grew up around the area of Jayton, where she lived for many years. She married Harvey Childress on Sept. 21, 1946. Around 1956, she moved to Marble Falls and went to work for the Marble Falls school district as a cafeteria manager. She later moved to Burnet and worked as cafeteria manager for the Burnet school district. For many years, she worked at Camp Longhorn during the summer months as a cook.
She enjoyed being with her friends and family and was a faithful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Louise attended First Assembly of God Church in Marble Falls with many of her family members.
Louise is survived by her daughters, Wanda Herren and husband Gary and Mary Sue Clarke and husband George, all of Burnet; sisters Bertha Summers of Copperas Cove and Bonnie Barker, Annette Layton and Jeanette Goodman, all of Marble Falls; four grandchildren, Robin Hocker, Tony Box, Randy Box and James Clarke; nine great-grandchildren, Keaton, Cody, Alyssa, Cassie, Blake, Bryson, Kendrick, Chloe and Morgan; and one great-great-grandchild, Bentley. Louise also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and other relatives who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey; brother, Elmer Beam; and sister Jewell Denniston.
A funeral service is 3 p.m. April 26 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 306 Texas 29 East in Burnet, (512) 756-2222, with the Revs. Kenneth Womack and Bob Weis officiating. Interment will follow at Marble Falls City Cemetery. Those named as pallbearers are Leon Layton, Rocky Layton, Bill Ed Goodman, Dwayne Briggs, Jimmy Dean Brooks, Ricky Briggs, Johnny Briggs and Gene Bertram. Honorary pallbearers are Mickey Foster and Gary Worley.
