Janice Chandler, 77, of Burnet passed away suddenly and unexpectedly April 24, 2015. She was born Aug. 12, 1937, in Pampa, Texas, to Jessie James “Jack” and Mildred (Robinson) Jaggars.

In 1953, Janice moved to Stanton, Texas, where she met the love of her life, Ivan. They were married in Stanton on April 19, 1957. After Ivan’s retirement from the Dallas Fire Department, they traveled for several years before settling in Burnet, where they became active in their church and community.

Janice loved crafts, visiting with friends and family, and going to church. She was a member of Hill Country Fellowship. She never met a stranger and had the gift of serving others. She always knew right from wrong, and there was no grey area. She will be dearly missed.

Janice is survived by Ivan, her husband of 58 years; daughter, Lisa Singleton and husband Don of Cedar Hill; and son Darran Chandler and wife Stephanie of Irving. She is also survived by grandsons, David and Curtis Chandler of Irving; and four-legged daughters, Coco and Bridgett.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son Stephen Wayne Chandler at 21 months old.

A visitation for family and friends is 5-7 p.m. April 27 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 306 Texas 29 East in Burnet, (512) 756-2222. A public memorial service is 11 a.m. April 28 at Hill Country Fellowship Church in Burnet. A private family burial will take place at Post Mountain Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Highland Lakes Pregnancy Resource Center.
