PEC candidates announce intent to run for board of directors

JOHNSON CITY — Pedernales Electric Cooperative candidates have turned in their petitions to apply to run for three of the seven positions up for election on the board of directors.
In District 1, Burnet resident Mark Axford submitted his application to challenge incumbent Cristi Clement of Meadowlakes.
In District 6, incumbent Larry Landaker has filed his petition along with four others: Paul Graf, Max Hosford, Jake Pustejovsky and Jeff Ross.
In District 7, incumbent Patrick Cox, the current president of the PEC board, chose not to run again.
Four people have submitted petitions and applications for the position: Amy Lea Akers, Jeff Barton, Douglas Kadjar and Mac McCullough.
Applications by the candidates, who are required to obtain a certain number of member names by petition, are scheduled to be verified by April 15.
According to the PEC website, the official announcement of candidacy is April 21. Directors serve three-year terms.
A candidates forum is 5:30 p.m. April 23 at the PEC headquarters, 201 S. Ave. F in Johnson City.
