Lan Thanh Nguyen, 52, of Horseshoe Bay died March 17, 2015
Dr. Lan Thanh Nguyen, a resident of Horseshoe Bay, Texas, passed away suddenly March 17, 2015, as a result of a cerebral aneurysm.
Her medical practice was centered at Hill Country Memorial Surgery Center LLC, Family Medicine Rural Health Clinic PA and Llano County Hospital Authority.
Doctor Nguyen was born in Saigon, Vietnam, on Oct. 21, 1962. Along with her parents and siblings, she fled her homeland after the communist takeover of the country in 1975. Surviving a perilous journey to Wake Island, she and her family eventually migrated to Missouri in October 1975.
Dr. Nguyen obtained her medical degree from the University of Missouri at Columbia and completed her surgical residency at Syracuse University in New York. In 1992, she joined in partnership with Dr. Griffith M. Thomas and took immense pride in providing medical care to the residents of Marble Falls, Llano, Lampasas and Burnet.
Dr. Nguyen is survived by her husband, Anh Nguyen Mather, and their four sons, Quang, Vu, Tuan and Minh. She is also survived by her mother, two sisters, three brothers and their respective families.
