Robert Lloyd Watson, 63, of Kingsland, Texas, passed away March 6, 2015. He was born Jan. 14, 1952 in Houston, the son of William P. and Velda Faye (Hegge) Watson. He was known to his friends as “Chase” or “Bob.”

Robert joined the Houston Police Academy on Jan. 22, 1973. During his tenure with the police department, he worked in several divisions, including Southeast Patrol, Jail, Traffic/Accident and Special Operations. He retired at the rank of lieutenant on Jan. 15, 1994. After his retirement from Houston PD, he served as chief of police in Burnet.

Robert attended St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Kingsland. He enjoyed fishing and old Western films and was an avid zombie enthusiast. The time he spent with his family was his greatest joy.

Robert is survived by his wife of 38 years, Elizabeth Watson, and their three children, Susan, Mark and David.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. March 9 at Putnam Funeral Home, 145 Texas Ave. in Kingsland, (325) 388-0008, with a Rosary recited at 6 p.m. A requiem Mass is 2 p.m. March 10 at St. Charles Church. Go to www.putnamcares.com to offer condolences.
