Dale Hernandez, 71, of Burnet died March 3, 2015

Dale Hernandez, 71, of Burnet passed away March 3, 2015. He was born Dec. 24, 1943, in Round Mountain to Maleno and Antonia (Ribera) Hernandez.

Dale worked as a granite polisher at Texas Granite for many years and also at Sure Cast.

Dale was a man of faith and always had a relationship with the Lord. He loved and cherished the time he got to spend with his children, grandson and family. He loved to watch Texas Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys football. When it wasn’t football season he loved to watch NASCAR.

Dale never hesitated to help someone in need. He will be missed by many as he had an impact on everyone he met.

Dale is survived by his daughters, Dianna Hernandez and Angela Smith and husband Joshua, all of Burnet; son Chris Hernandez of Burnet; stepsons, Calvin Wilkes and Martin Wilkes, both of Cottonwood Shores; and grandson, Taylor Dale Berryhill of Burnet. He is also survived by brothers Henry Hernandez and wife Janie, Gene Hernandez and wife Mary and Sal Hernandez and wife Gennave, all of Burnet; and sister Mary Cisneros and husband Blas of Lampasas.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents; son Dale Anthony Hernandez; brother Emmett Hernandez; and sister Helen Hernandez.

A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. March 13 at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church with a memorial service at 10 a.m. March 14 at the church. Burial will take place later at Burnet City Cemetery.
