BURNET — The annual Miss Burnet Bluebonnet Scholarship Pageant will be held a bit earlier this year and at a new venue.
The 2015 pageant winner will be crowned Feb. 28 in the auditorium at Burnet High School, 1000 The Green Mile, instead of at the middle school as in the past several years.
Kindergarten through 12th-grade girls in the Burnet Consolidated Independent School District are invited to vie for the title of Miss Burnet, Junior Miss, Young Miss, Little Miss and Tiny Miss. The winner and first and second alternates in the Miss Burnet category receive college scholarships.
Applications for the pageant are available at the Burnet Chamber of Commerce, 101 N. Pierce St., and at www.bluebonnetfestival.org. Applications are due by 5 p.m. Feb. 20. A sponsor fee of $50 is due with the application when it is returned to the chamber office.
Sponsors can be a civic club, a business, an organization or an individual. Late applications will be assessed a $10 fee.
An orientation meeting is 5:30 p.m. Feb. 23 in the high school cafeteria.
