Highland Lakes communities celebrate Christmas with displays, more

MARBLE FALLS — Communities across the Highland Lakes are celebrating Christmas with lights displays, parades and more.
Here are some holiday happenings to get you in the spirit. Click on links to read more about the events.
BURNET
The Trail of Lights display in Burnet is open through Dec. 31 starting at Wallace Riddell Park through the courthouse square and into Hamilton Creek Park.
JOHNSON CITY
LIGHTS SPECTACULAR AND MORE: The lights go on each night through Jan. 1 at the Blanco County Courthouse and the Pedernales Electric Cooperative headquarters in Johnson City. Also, visitors can take a lamplight tour of President Lyndon B. Johnson’s childhood home 6-9 p.m. Dec. 20 or buy handmade Christmas ornaments from the Johnson City Garden Club at the courthouse.
LLANO
STARRY, STARRY NIGHTS: The Christmas lights display in Badu Park in Llano features displays, Santa and more. It is open 6-9 p.m. nightly through Dec. 31.
MARBLE FALLS
WALKWAY OF LIGHTS: This Christmas lights display shines bright with more than 2 million lights along Lake Marble Falls in Lakeside Park, 307 Buena Vista Drive in Marble Falls. It is open 6-10 p.m. nightly through Jan. 1, 2015. Santa makes is there on the weekend. Admission is free. Donations are accepted.
TOW
A Christmas celebration is 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 20 at the Tow Community Center in Tow. The event features Mrs. Claus, cookies, goodies, punch and hot chocolate. Photos with Mrs. Claus available for a small donation.
BUCHANAN DAM
A free Christmas dinner is noon-2 p.m. Dec. 25 at the Buchanan Community Center, 2398 Texas 261 in Buchanan Dam. Free local delivery. Call (512) 755-5091 for more information or to make delivery arrangements.
