Katherine “Kathy” was born in Los Angeles on March 2, 1936.

Her father and maternal grandparents immigrated to the United States from Italy. Her mother was born in New York City. Her parents met in Los Angeles and were married in the mid-1920s. Her father made a living as a tailor, and her mother was a seamstress.

Katherine grew up in Los Angeles and attended John Marshall High School. She started working in 1952 at age 16 for the American Telephone and Telegraph Co. as a cord board operator while still in high school. Katherine loved hanging out with her friends and cousins at the beach and enjoyed going to the Santa Monica Pier.

Katherine married her first husband in 1954 and had three children. She married her second husband, John Allen, in 1984 and celebrated their 30-year wedding anniversary this past March.

Over the years, Katherine lived in several locations, including California, Illinois and the Philippines, eventually settling down in Marble Falls, Texas.

She was deeply loved by her husband and her family. She enjoyed getting out, going places and doing things and especially loved seeing and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Katherine passed away peacefully Nov. 17, 2014, with her three children and husband at her bedside.

Kathy was survived by her husband, John Allen; son, Ocy “Butch” Leeroy Blakey III; daughters, Adele Lynn Boyer and husband Wayne and Shirley Wagenfuhr and husband Craig; five granddaughters, Gwen, Reba, Geena, Monica and Lily; and four great-grandchildren, Zane, Payten, Kendall and Sutton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander and Marie Rose Calaguri Raimondi, and brother, Richard Raimondi.

A memorial service is 11 a.m. Nov. 21 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 1805 U.S. 281 North in Marble Falls, (830) 693-4373, followed by interment at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas.

Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children or the Alzheimer’s Association.
