Benefit for Marble Falls High School student injured in accident is Nov. 1

COTTONWOOD SHORES — Friends and family of a 17-year-old Marble Falls High School student recovering from injuries she suffered in a car accident in August are holding a benefit for her Nov. 1 at On the Rocks in Cottonwood Shores.

On Aug. 29, Kelsey Spillman was the passenger in a pickup truck when it apparently hydroplaned and crashed into another vehicle. Spillman was transported to an Austin-area hospital with head injuries. She is out of the hospital, but the Round Mountain youth still faces recovery.

The benefi is 11 a.m.-6 p.m. at On The Rocks, 4401 Cottonwood Drive in Cottonwood Shores. The restaurant will be serving a $15 buffet with 50 percent of food and beverage sales going to the Spillman family. There also will be a silent auction with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the family.

Organizers say they are holding the benefit to in Kelsey’s honor to “help her family through these tough times.”
