Marble Falls volleyball season ends with loss to Vandegrift

MARBLE FALLS — The Marble Falls High School volleyball team ended the 2014 season with a District 25-5A loss to Leander Vandegrift 14-25, 18-25 and 13-25 on Oct. 28.

“This match was the conclusion of a very difficult season for the Mustangs,” Marble Falls head coach Julie Downs said, “but the Mustangs showed an extreme amount of tenacity, character and persistence in handling the tough competition in (the district).”

The Lady Vipers, who finished third in the district, used their arsenal of tough hitters to dominate the match, Downs said.

SUBVARSITY RESULTS: Marble Falls junior varsity lost 12-25, 19-25; Marble Falls freshmen lost 13-25, 12-25.

RECORDS: Marble Falls ends the season at 4-27 overall and 0-14 in District 25-5A; Cedar Park Vandegrift is 27-17 overall and 9-5 in district.
