Marble Falls High School graduates Austin Ellis (left) and Ben Stripling competed in their final high school fishing tournament Oct. 25. The two competed in a regional tournament on the Red River in Bossier City, La., where they finished sixth thanks to catching three fish that weighed 7.7 pounds. Bryan Ellis was the team’s boat captain. To compete, teams from New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arizona, Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska had to finish near the top of their state tournaments. Ellis is currently a freshman at Bethel University in McKenzie, Tenn., and is a member of its bass fishing team, while Ellis is a freshman at Texas A&M University. Courtesy photo
