SPICEWOOD — Weekend accidents have resulted in the death of two people, one of them on a motorcyle, on roadways in Travis and Burnet counties, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

A Columbiaville, Michigan, man died Oct. 18 after a collision between a car and a pickup pulling a trailer about 1 a.m. four miles east of Spicewood on Texas 71 in Travis County, the report stated.

Bradley Thiebe, 32, was driving a 1997 Saturn passenger car traveling east when his vehicle “for unknown reason” crossed into oncoming traffic and struck the trailer being towed by a 2006 Dodge Ram 3500, according to the report.

Thiebe died as a result of his injuries, and his passenger, 52-year-old Wayne Myer of Beaumont, suffered incapacitating injuries, Trooper Timothy Johnson reported.

The driver of the pickup, Timothy Mann of Fort Worth, was deemed in stable condition with non-incapacitating injuries at a hospital, the report stated.

Traffic was delayed as motorists werere-routed.

In another collision on Oct. 18, this time in Burnet County, a Harker Heights man died from his injuries after a motorcycle accident.

Bryan Pitney, 33, was driving a 2004 Buell motorcyle at 1:22 p.m. on CR 221 in Burnet County, just outside Oakalla, when he “failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway to the right and struck a tree,” the report stated.
