FROM STAFF REPORTS

MARBLE FALLS — Twice a year, the Blue Bonnet Cafe turns itself into catfish dinner specialists. For four hours those two times, owner John Kemper puts his regular restaurant menu on hold so he and his staff can cook up a mess of catfish benefitting the Marble Falls Area EMS.

The annual Marble Falls Area EMS Fish Fry gets cooking Oct. 1 from 4-8 p.m. at the cafe, located at 211 U.S. 281 in Marble Falls. Plates are $8 per person and $3 for children 5 and younger. All proceeds benefit the Marble Falls Area EMS.

The events has become a regular date on many folks’ calendar. While the Blue Bonnet Cafe staff works the floor and the kitchen, it’s not uncommon to find some local politicians and leaders cleaning tables and helping out.

The Blue Bonnet Cafe steps up to provide the catfish, hush puppies and other sides for the event.

Over the years, the fundraiser has helped pay for additional EMS training and equipment.

Along with the wonderful meal, it’s a great opportunity to come out and meet many of the Marble Falls Area EMS paramedics and staff.

Folks can dine in or carry out. For take-out orders, call (830) 693-2444.
