Fred Junior Fryer, 97, of Kingsland died July 16, 2014

Fred Junior Fryer passed away July 16, 2014, in Kingsland, Texas, at the age of 97. He was born to Fred and Myrtle (Easley) Fryer on June 25, 1917, in Greenville, Texas.
He is survived by his second wife, Margaret (Jenkins) Fryer; sons, Jim Fryer and wife Linda and Bill Fryer and wife Kay; daughter, Ann Miller; seven grandchildren and their spouses; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Fred was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean (Sorensen) Fryer; her parents; youngest daughter, Mary Jean Fryer Zapata; and granddaughter Susie Stiles.
Fred graduated from the San Antonio Vocational and Technical High School in 1935 and had three job offers. He went to work for San Antonio Music Co. as a salesman. Over his career, he had many salesman jobs for various companies. He owned several business: Freddy’s Café in San Juan, The Carriage House furniture store, Concept Manufacturing Co. and Fairway Real Estate Co., all of Austin.
Fred never really retired. He was making sales calls for Ruff Tuff Manufacturing Co. until two months before his death. In high school, he earned an Eagle Scout rank and for 60 years was a proud Shriner.
A memorial service is 11 a.m. Sept. 27 at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 8134 Mesa Drive in Austin. A luncheon in the parish hall will follow.
